The Vatican’s Philatelic and Numismatic Office will soon issue a postage stamp commemorating Martin Luther on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the schism he created in Christendom. Luther was excommunicated in 1521 by Pope Leo X via the papal bull, Decet Romanum Pontificem.
