Despite the cornucopia of labels for this theologian, philosopher, novelist, institution builder, poet, ambassador, mentor, father, and more, the word that comes first to my own mind in saying hasta luego to Michael Novak is this one: courage. It’s a legacy only fitting for a lion, after all. A lion who had the voice of a lamb.
