Joaquín Navarro-Valls, St. John Paul II’s press officer, passed away in Rome on Wednesday. The cause of death was pancreatic cancer. The former director of the Press Office of the Holy See died in his Roman residence, accompanied by the faithful of the Opus Dei Prelature with whom he lived.
