On Fr. Martin’s objection to Church teaching “gays” must always be celibate

The Jesuit author of the new book that says homosexual people have not “received” Church teaching on perpetual celibacy. The noted canon lawyer quotes an old friend: “That’s not right. That’s not even wrong. I don’t know what that is.” Besides it’s easy for same-sex attracted people to marry: a lesbian, for instance — otherwise free of canonical impediments — is allowed to marry a similarly free man.
