Responding to the pope’s assertion that he first learned of the four cardinals “dubia” letter from a newspaper article, Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke, one of the four, points out that another of the four, Cardinal Carlo Caffarra, “personally delivered the letter containing the dubia to the Papal Residence, and at the same time to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, on September 19, 2016 . . .”
