How do you know this was discussed at this private meeting?

Were you there?

Speculation

I know that these super rich people (Gates, etc.) focus on population control quite a bit, but how do you KNOW that that is one of the issues that was discussed? Is this pure speculation or did you have a rat in there? This is meant as an honest question. - Josh

Eliminate them? Well, you are exactly right. That is what is planned if you read their own writings. these rich people are almost to a person eugenicists. quite sickening actually! The Georgia Guidestones which some of them anonymously paid to erect says we need a world with 500 million people to hold a perpetual balance with nature. They believe they are Plato's "Philosopher Kings" who can rule the world wisely because we cannot. Please.......

I have heard this from early schooling days. A large percentage of the world's wealth is held in the hands of a small percentage of people, who are the ones always advocating cut i reproductive rates, so that they would never have to share the wealth. So much for economics and fair trade. - Scott

Where is Jesus?

Only three columnists this month have used the word "Jesus", while 5 have used the word "Obama" (7 if you count "President" or "A Certain One"). While the primary purpose of "The Catholic Thing" as described in the inaugural column (which also does not mention Jesus) is not catechesis, this all strikes me as rather odd. If the Catholic faith is indeed Truth (now, that word is used a lot!), how can writers ignore Jesus, and during May, Eastertide, His Mother and His Ascension? - Bradley

so, where were the guz-billionaires who own the Middle East & have multiple wives & lots of off-spring? are these rich people so blind they don't see who on earth is having lots of kids any way they can besides the poor? if i didn't believe in Scripture - the meek will inherit the earth- i'd think it would be the muslims who will inherit the earth! maybe that is the group Oprah & Company is really working for. - debby

Altruism?

Good piece! It seems evident that if Western culture continues to depopulate it will need the more populous Africans, Latinos and Middle Easterners to fill the void. We will slowly lose our identity. It is so noble for the Western wealthy elite to help the poor Africans etc. by forcing upon them birth control and abortion. Did not the German philosophers of the early 20th century tell us how to solve this type of problem? You simply use your power to eliminate them. No vote then either! - Willie
