almost intelligent, most definitely a RC woman!
i liked this book. i didn't love it, but it was a good, easy respite after a working mom's day. i just finished Postcard from a Volcano. (500+pgs) same opinion-altho the history is mostly unknown to Americans so a worthwile read. both these books left me sad-life is so hard & i guess always was, will be. i want to read 3rd Revelation but haven't bought it yet. i need a little hope-maybe i'll go back to middle earth & find the struggle worth it all - debby

I read this book for a book club and was very disappointed. I found the writing style and the dialog back and forth somewhat juvenile; I didn't come to like any of the characters, except maybe the elderly priest, Fr. Luke. And most importantly, a couple of major moments in the story near the beginning and at the end (that I'll leave unsaid) were not at all believable.

I'm an intelligent 50-year old Roman Catholic woman and I just wanted to offer a counterpoint to your review. No offense! - elizabeth
