I found the writing style and the dialog back and forth somewhat juvenile; I didn't come to like any of the characters, except maybe the elderly priest, Fr. Luke. And most importantly, a couple of major moments in the story near the beginning and at the end (that I'll leave unsaid) were not at all believable.
