Professor Robinson is wonderful! I am so happy to see him on here too. I hope he becomes a regular. He is the epitome of decency, civility, brilliance and common sense. Thanks Professor, please come back again and again, sincerely Achilles. - Achilles

The writings of most of the founders of our country agree with Dr. Rush - virtue, Christian virtue, is necessary for our nation to be strong. Look around you with open eyes and an open mind, you'll have to agree. Secularism and relativism are not substitutes for the real truth of the Christian faith. - Donna

In this age of relativism and lack of absolute truth, to suggest that living now in the present is living like Christ is quite a leap. The One who said He was the Truth is largely ignored in academia and the public square. Forgive me for wanting to idealize like the Founding Fathers and the Apostolic Fathers. I sincerely hope your nephew is getting a Christian education at GU. One thing he did not get recently was Catholic witness or evangelization on behalf of Christ. - Willie

I am delighted to see Dr. Robinson in this venue. His is one of the most articulate expressions of the Long Debate that I know of and his insights and wisdom are invaluable. - Raleigh F. (Sandy)

This longing to return to an idealized past is both undignified and not very Christian. In this case, 18th century America used the Bible to justify slavery and anti-Catholicism. Let's live like Jesus - in the present! If your children don't get enough religion, read the Bible to them or take them to early morning Mass. Invite your neighbors. Evangelize, don't complain! And get over the Georgetown incident. My nephew's an undergrad -- the Jesutis are training faithful Catholics there. - Bradley

A good piece indeed! If education was meant to open up new areas of understanding and the appreciation of our being, we have strayed. Education today seems to be geared only for utilitarian purposes. Long gone are the Liberal Arts and the old Trivium and Quadrivium. Also gone is man's thought based on moral virtues. Except for his "share the wealth" philosophy, Obama is the antithesis of Christianity. He dare not advertise himself with Jesus. The collusion of GU portrays a modern day Judas. - Willie
