I'm a film student having this topic as my thesis, and I just want to say that this is the exact article that I've been looking for--very, very enlightening indeed. Thank you for this, looking forward to the next part. - Beatrice

I find it disheartening that some "Catholics" take any article they read as an opportunity to chastise the "leasers" of the Church. Dear "Chaplain", how many bishops do you know and can you really place upon all leaders of the church a fault that you personally experienced in your limited contact with Church leadership. Come to the Archidiocese of Miami or go to the Archidiocese of NY, or Cleveland, or Denver, on and on. - Peter

Thank you for this new series. We need solid reminders.
After 27 years a RC convert from Baptist-flavor Christianity, i can say that living this Sacramental Life of Grace is kind of like breathing air: you're not always aware,in fact grace is almost taken for granted, but our spiritual lungs depend on these graces or we die. i hope David includes some practical "how tos" of cooperating w/the graces we receive...i find that such a mystery yet can see over time the fruit of His Grace. - debby

Sadly enough, it is due to lack of leadership from our church bishops (most of them) that they are not promoting with zeal the beauty of the sacraments.
It is high time for a radical change in our church leadership.
The leaders are supposed to be soldiers in the FRONT LINE of the battle willing to be sacrificed. - Tony Cassar

Very good article and excellent catechesis. With the ongoing loss of the sense of sin, why would anybody need sacraments? It's a shame a reprint of this article cannot be sent to every Catholic American. - Willie
