As a place of religious pilgrimage, the Shrine: pays homage to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of America and Star of the New Evangelization; is a place of sacramental encounter with Christ; is a place of thanksgiving for God's many blessings; offers solace and strength to the physically and spiritually afflicted; educates adult Catholics in the faith; and applies to daily life the teachings and guidance of the Church. - Brad Miner

For all of you “Norte Americanos,” I thought it would be appropriate to share some information about the new Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Faithful to the message of the Blessed Virgin Mary through her appearances on the American continent in 1531, the Shrine serves the spiritual needs of those who suffer poverty in body and soul. It is a place of ceaseless prayer for the corporal and spiritual welfare of God's children, especially those in most need. - Phil Homer

Another reason Secretary Clinton didn't understand Our Lady of Guadalupe's message is that in the image, she is expecting Our Lord, indicated by the belt she wears. She halted the slaughter of thousands of slaves on the altars of the Aztec priests. The altars were literally running with blood. Her message to America today is to stop the slaughter of innocent babies in the womb. On the day the Mexico City Council legalized abortion, a fetus-shaped light appeared on the image on her abdomen. - Leticia Velasquez

We all Need This Mother

i think OLG is my favorite revealing of Herself to us, to me, because She came Pregnant. Jesus gave Her to me-She is my own dear Mommy. So, as She carried Jesus, She carries me, in Her womb, Her heart, Her arms. And you. doesn't your heart hear Her as She says, "Let nothing frighten you. Let nothing disturb you. Am I not here, who am your Mother? Are you not in the crossing of My arms? Is there anything more you need?" (spoken to Juan Diego-from memory, please excuse any misquote.) - debby
