Perhaps the reason "promiscuity" leads to depression is because of (an unduly influenced) society that demonises acts of love and passion while simultaneously lauding acts of violence and self-interest. Also, "Post coitum omne animal triste est" is most often attributed to Saint Augustine. - Jeffrey Andreoni

Promiscuity closely correlates with depression and suicide rates. The greater the number of sexual partners, the greater the risk for depression and suicide. It is widely assumed that monogomous marriage is the gold standard for pyschological health. Interestingly however, although the data is sparse, there is some evidence that the depression and suicide rates of adult virgins are even lower than those of monogamous married people. - Dan

Yes, and methadone kills! Sometimes the death rate from methodone can be higher than from heroin itself. Some cure, huh. - Bob Nelson

breaking the silence

UCLA psychiatrist Dr. Miriam Grossman is one of the few who has broken this silence. She wrote a great book called “Unprotected”about the effects of the PC harm reduction mentality on young people at our college campuses. (it was first published anonymously - which tells you a lot) - Beverly Moore

A great silence

I have been astonished at the silence of the medical profession in the face of an epidemic of sexually transmitted disease. I know of only two physicians who have dared to broach the subject. Promiscuity has resulted in some cases in incurable conditions, robbing young people of health at the very beginning of adult life. Homosexual activity is associated with serious harm to the human body. And yet most doctors are silent. - linda smith
