I agree with Kathleen O'Hagan. I am 61 and live in the liberal state of Washington. I have just deleted my Facebook account because I was derided, insulted, chastised, and belittled because of my statements about abortion, 'death in dignity', etc. I am passionately pro-life from conception to natural death. I appreciate TCT for well-written, insightful articles. Like Kathleen, they remind me I don't have to be assigned to the Twilight Zone but rather to the safe space of Christ's love. - Becky

Dear Kathleen,

Thanks for your comment and your gentleness, reminding all of us we are not alone. Your few words are worth many, many columns and any number of opinions.

Thank you for these daily columns. I look forward to their wisdom every day. I am a 38-year-old Catholic and married mother of three living in a suburb of NYC. I often feel as if I were in a Twilight Zone episode where the rest of the world has gone crazy but I am considered the crazy one for seeking Truth. Thank you for reminding me that I am not alone. - Kathleen O'Hagan

This is a good piece; a wake up call for all those who still believe in liberty. That great historian Christopher Dawson whom not too many students of history read these days, was of the mindset that a country that lost its spirituality lost also its culture. It seems that Europe is on its way and the present regime in DC would have us follow. Is the State soon to become the arbiter of social justice for the common good rather than for virtue and truth? Will a duped populace forget our Founders? - Willie

Infantilization is more insidious (& eerily accepted) than "hard despotism". This website (& First Things) offers a way out of the catacombs for Christians... Thank you for that... - TJW
