Is it too late to ask whether or not anyone knows where the records of the CHD can be viewed? It is well past time for a full audit of their grants going back to the beginning. - Clarence

Acorns to CHD

1) Maybe there\'s a connection that I don't know about, but the article talks about CHD but the comments are inveighing against UCCB. I know that we have one annual Sunday collection for for CHD, because; 2) I'm planning on putting acorns in my CHD envelope this year (hope the season is right). - Tom in NC

Alinsky and Maritain

From the sound of your article, one might surmise that you were conflating the radical ideas of Alinsky with those of the Catholic Maritain. Instead, Maritain attempted to convert Alinsky and quite possibly softened his radical views.

USCCB

From what faceless USCCB groups do these destructive ideas originate? Who informs "the Bishops" before monies extracted (stolen?) from mostly poor and modest earners in the name of Charitable giving are given away to groups outside the faith community? $100,000,000! And at the same time we have subdised over 2 billion for practiced abomination! What else is out there? Holy Father, restructure or disband this travesty. - Clarence

Camus on generosity?

I have no context for the Camus comment offered under the Notables section, but I believe it is superficial and erroneous as presented. There are behaviors other than generosity included within the virtue of charity. Specifically, prudence and justice. It is no sin to provide for the future of those who are dependent upon us as long as moderation guides us. Present generosity is good, but it is no less good than generosity prudently deferred. - Gaff

Here We Go Again

When are we going to learn. What right does the UCCB have to give any of our money to any organization other than to the Church itself. $100 Million handed over to the DEVIL for the destruction of the Church. Nice going JUDASes. How about handing the money to needy parishes for soup kitchens and health clinics or to Catholic schools for full scholarships. How about making Christ visible to the world by using our treasure for visible good works. These organizations have nothing to do with Christ. - Jean-Pierre Chacon

Diabolical Hubris

A good piece and wakeup call for anyone who thinks it's business as usual in our country. One need not be very scholarly to realize that our government, our courts and part of our Church has been surreptiously taken over by radical leftists by way of radical organizers such as Acorn. Is it reality or just my imagination that the present regime has surrounded itself with such radical advisors? I truly believe that these academic elitists consider themselves to be mankind's most knowledgeable. - Willie

The sheep are blind

It is only too obvious that the sheep are blind and see none of this. Maybe 1 in a thousand even thinks he sees it. Alinsky radicalism/Marxism has dominated our culture and Church. Shadows of Anti-christ abound. Read "The AntiChrist" by Fr. Vincent Miceli, he speaks about Alinsky.
Where is Cardinal Kroll when you need him.... - Fr Tim

Cleansing in High Places

I wonder if the USCCB and its members realize what a source of scandal they are almost daily. USCCB is a flawed organization. It should be disbanded. And, sadly, those heading many of our dioceses throughout the country should be closely examined and many removed for the benefit of the Church and the integrity of our Faith. - helenm
