Mr. James, what do you mean? Which vocal few are you talking about? Is it the pro-life witnesses? If so, what spiritual imperative are they, or did they, eclipse? Did the pro-life witnesses reveal their political persuasions? I don't recall them doing that.... - Elizabeth

The history of Christianity is very instructive concerning the colorful development and, expansion of the Roman Catholic Church from the early days to the present. As a consequence, the reaction to President Obama, by some at Notre Dame is not surprising, but rather expected. It is however unfortunate that the vocal few are attempting to eclipse the spiritual imperative of the church, in favor of ideology and partisan politics. - Gary James

It is well known that Obama is the most anti-life politician in office; even to the point of insuring the death of failed abortions. Yet ND in keeping with its concept of the “Ivy League Catholic College," chose to confer on him an honorary degree. This is not the only Catholic institution that has sold out to the audacious academic elitists. You see, there is no room for Divine competition in contemporary academia. ND has sold itself to relativism and godless hubris. To hell with faith. - Willie

Vatican 2

We used to call the insistent "misinterpretation" with another word: "heresy" but the politically correct hordes transformed the word "heresy" into a curse and the heretics into heroes, "transgressors" to be admired for their daring ways. Now they want to rule the Church. One more time: the abomination is standing where it ought not. Time for everyone to wake up and LEARN the faith for real. - Chuck

"... misinterpretations of Vatican II ..." Finally it has been said. There are so many misintepretations of Vatican II out there (developed over 40 yrs) that it may take another 40 years to repair all that damage!! And our so-called Catholic universities have taken a huge hit and continue in their errant ways. Pray for the Church and pray for our Pope - the reformer of the reform. Another good article. Thank you. - Liz
