Father, "from housewives to university professors"? Maybe it should be the other way around, judging from the apostasy that flows from so-called institutions of higher learning and the hope, faith, and charity that emanates from a believing family.

The Church was never, is not now and never will be a democracy resting rather on on Scripture, tradition and the magisterium -- beliefs that many in the Sensate Age cannot embrace or even consider, finding such notions politically unpalatable. - Joseph

Father an excellent reminder that we, the laity, are also all called to be Priest, Prophet and King. How can this be? Well. We are kings by our giving help and aid to our fellow man. We are prophets by spreading the Word. We are priests by offering in union with the priest that eternal sacrifice of Calvary. The Church will always bear the brunt of vilification from from elitists and progressives who think they know better. Hilaire Belloc said that an inert laity aided the Protestant Reformation! - Willie

It is encouraging to know that someone survived a Boston College education with faith intact. Fr. Bramwell must have been a somewhat lonely "voice in the wilderness" that college has become. Thank you for this clarification of the laity's vocation. - Ars Artium
