Reflection

Something has happened to the American mind. From the luminous days of Mark Twain to the dark landscapes of Paul Auster there is a clearly defined path. We do not want to accept it as a path of decadence but that's what it is. I for one, would wish that someone would talk to us about heaven, or about hope for a better place. I cannot understand the fascination for dark landscapes in the midst of a real dark landscape. - Chuck

Not true. True

"I will kill anyone who touches you" Not true as sixty years of priestly abuse of boys and young men will attest. No priest was killed by anyone. True: the description of the world is what Sister Agnes of Akita, Japan, 1973 said the Blessed Mother warned her to tell the world would happen if the world did not reform. The survivors of "the fire from the sky" would envy those who were killed. No one believes it until they read of such devastation in a novel. Thank you for the piece. - William H.
