However, he never envisioned the English-speaking islands off the coast as potential members. Their history and institutions were too different. Now Ireland has voted for its engulfment by the Eurocratic octopus. Result: its basic values and laws will be overturned. Will Ireland join Italy and Poland in rebellion if not secession? They have a moral obligation to do so. One must wonder whether such overarching actions are not diagnostic of the entire conceptual enterprise of a "United States of Europe." I am anxious to see what the moral fiber of Ireland is these days as Western Christianity grows weak and malleable to the wants of the Saracen.
