The Glory be
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
The Holy Rosary
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day He rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen. - terrasanta

Fiat & Magnificat!

beautiful, powerful, a print this, re-read, soak it in" post. THANK YOU, KATHRYN! i can't wait to savor more of your meditations!
Mother Teresa had a beautiful prayer (told to me from a priest of hers); she used her 10 fingers to pray this all during her work day:
Dearest Mother, pray Your Fiat and Magnificat in my heart.
i've been praying this prayer for 15 years or so. She answers that plea with new wine to be poured out, new perfume to annoint Him with. She changes you. - debby

I had the unearned pleasure of Fr. James' friendship while a student at Catholic University, and rejoiced upon hearing of his appointment as president of the University of Mary. May God in his great providence continue to bless us with holy priests ready to lead in this yet new millenium, this yet young springtime of the Church!!

... Rejoice! - Adam

My favorite painting

Tanner's Annunciation is my favorite painting, period. It has graced my blog on more than one occasion, and I finally found a print for my home. The more I look at it, the more I learn from it. Wonderful article! Thanks for bringing this wonderful art work to the attention of more people. - Laura

I'm just thinking . . . if we see ourselves in Our Lady (and vice-versa), wouldn't it that mean that we obscure laypeople (just as Mary herself was obscure for some time) will have great rewards for doing God's will, no matter how insignificant -- or significant -- it is? But these are just extrapolations, assuming that we do imitate Our Lady's "fiat" . . .

Excellent, very moving and spot on! I have heard and read of the need to get this message out to our young men and women so often and in so many places, yet so rarely is this actually done. May we be blessed with more Father Sheas. - LE
