Could the humor stem from the irony that Doerflinger himself helped to midwife Obamacare last November 7th through his co-authoring and ongoing promotion of the Stupak amendment? Though his post-March PR tries to cast him as a victim of the left, the way he bragged about his machinations to put lipstick (Stupak amendment) on the pig of the "Health Care" bill are quite revealing.

Were it not for the Stupak amendment, which encouraged wavering congressmen to vote for Obamacare, Obamacare might have been sitting in the dustbin of failed bills since last November. - Susan

Actually I think it's funny not only for the double entendre but for the alliteration as well.

As Mr. Arkes ably points out, "at the discretion of the Secretary" is the scary part of Obamacare, giving unlimited power to decide matters of life and death. - Joe

Just to confirm my status as an anthropological specimen: I have no idea what the "risque double meaning" is; rather, on reading the title, I immediately thought of "Hans Brinker and His Silver Skates" and other children's stories from old Holland. But this feeling is nothing new. It is with me almost all the time now in a world "turned upside down." Given the state of our culture and its effect on young people, I am surprised that a serious Catholic audience thought that sort of thing amusing. - Ars Artium
