I recently discovered a tentative publication date (at Borders Books) for Joseph Bottum's upcoming book, THE CATHOLIC AWAKENING. Surely The Catholic Thing is a tip of the spear of that development. Given our current (and extraordinary) Holy Father, I can think of another language to be explored -- German. As someone with roots in the American South, I am only too aware of our failings, but as you point out, sometimes American exceptionalism is more than a political slogan. Gratitude and blessings again to Robert Royal. - Graham Combs

Dr. Royal, this is such wonderful and exciting news! I am in favor of any cross-cultural, cross-linguistic communication with one goal in mind (in this case, the foundation being the Catholic faith). I agree with Dan Deeny: reaching Eastern European countries sounds like a great idea. - Emina Melonic
