A fine argument by a good apologist. The men who write these articles are more academicians than soldiers and when they speak of battle they mean of words. Is it unfair to CS Lewis to paraphrase “To be passive now – not to be able to meet the enemies on their own ground – would be to have thrown down our weapons, and to betray our undefended brethren who have, under God, no defense but us against the violent attacks of the enemy. Good national armies must exist, if for no other reason, because bad men in arms need to be defeated.” - Dr Pence
