But we know for a fact that it is the Spirit that gives life, e.g. the ruach of Genesis. It should then follow that the Holy Spirit already resides in ALL men from the very beginning, and that this Spirit is in virtual unity with God, who is indivisible and inseparable as He is eternal. This is then the 'spark' that Eckhart, Ruysbroek, and other mystical writers speak of.
