I have been trying for five days to post this response.
The idea is good. In my experience most benefactors do need more information about the targets of their charity. But money is only one element - although it is one that gets people's attention really fast. Just as much as money people do need to be informed enough to raise issues with their diocesan staffs most of whom are notoriously overworked. So finding responsible ways to do that is part of the mix.

As for Cardinal Burke, the man is swamped as it is but the ball is in your court. This is the kind of thing that lay people can and should be doing.

Thank you, Father Bramwell. You've given us another excellent column. Here's a practical suggestion: How about an organization for wealthy and generous benefactors faithful to the Magisterium, complete with a website that gives guidance on how to influence and keep honest bishops, pastors, and administrators of educational institutions who "just go along" and want "the meal ticket" and use of "the photocopying machines"? While I have no doubt that there are too many wealthy, generous, and unfaithful Catholics who have bought off various Catholic institutions to salve their bad consciences, I also am sure that there are well-intentioned benefactors who are clueless and naive and thus manipulated by the half-truths, equivocations, and ambiguities of those in positions of authority who lack "faith in Christ and his Church." Would Cardinal Burke be interested in lending his support to such an organization? - Martinkus
