Dear Fr. Schall: Thank you for the article on St.Thomas More, a man I admire and look to when thinking about the issues you raise. I keep his prayer close at hand- a beautiful and powerful prayer written while imprisoned in the Tower- his Gethsemane.
May he always be an example and guide to those who would be "God's servant first".

Note the similarity between Thomas More's fate and that of John the Baptist: Both are imprisoned for challenging or failing to affirm a "marriage" by a king; and both are then beheaded Fifteen centuries separate them; but both are faithful to God.

Dear Father Schall,

I fear your article may be prescient, as I have had similar thoughts myself. But I pray that God may not allow it to be.

Pax et bonum,
