When my seven children were attending a regional parochial high school in the 80s and early 90s(I sent them there for A.P.(Advanced Placement) courses, they had to take religion courses. One of these used a textbook called "Loving" which was an apologia for contraception and smaller families. I fought with the principal, the teachers, etc., bringing my case to the Archdiocese with no resolution. Last month the high school sent out a notice to all alumni that all the "Catholic" feeder grammar schools had closed, the tuition had doubled and the student body had halved. If "we do not receive massive financial support from the Alumni, the school will be forced to close." A son of mine who is an accountant wrote them a cordial, brief note suggesting the school convert to a "charter" school and drop any relationship with the Church.
