dear father,
i have printed this article for repeated reflection and safe-keeping.
(i hope you check back even tho a few days have passed)
i have a request.
would you pray one "Hail Mary" for my son? he was promised to my husband and i in prayer (long story-we were in different locations that day and unaware of each other having this "holy inspiration" at the very same moment)and 15 years later he was born. he was dedicated to our Lady from the moment i knew i was pregnant, and everyday we asked Her to "keep him and his vocation safe within Her womb, to bear the fruit of God's will." Mother Teresa's contemplative house of prayer for her novices is a few towns away from us, and all the holy sisters came to his Baptism and publicly gave him to Her....his name is Joseph Peter, named for the Saint and the Seat of Peter. he has just chosen St. John the Beloved as his Confirmation and life-long Patron. he is a pure-of-heart (and is rather clueless in spite of the crazy culture) young teen. the reason he gave for this particular Saint over the others he so loves (Arch Fulton Sheen among his favorites) was, "many Saints love Mother Mary, but only 2 ever got to take care of her. I'm already named for the one, so now I want the other to help me take her into my home."
one prayer from a holy man in love with Her-as you have proved repeatedly-would be among the most cherished Christmas gifts to my mother's heart.
i am grateful to God Most High for you and your steadfast work. - debby

Ah! How difficult it is these day to know "what is." Perhaps it is our preoccupation with the material. Maybe we are so busy we don't have time to let Him into our hearts. What are we all searching for? Why are are hearts restless still. What would St. Augustine say?
