I do not understand the Catholic Church and it's insistence that John McCain is pro-life. He is not. We have a wonderful Catholic man running for President. He is on the ballot in at least three states and officially a write-in candidate in about 30 others. His name is Alan Keyes. Religious leaders of all denominations are ignoring and somehow convincing themselves that McCain is pro-life. Alan Keyes is the best thing that could happen to this country at this time. I urge you to wake up. - Helen M

I don't need to watch any debate to know which candidate to vote for. Why doesn't the Catholic church as a whole know? The abortion issue is one of human rights, and until we get that right nothing in our society will be. Every church in America can get the message out without violating the separation of church and state ie losing the tax exempt status. We know what we bellieve or should. Catholics yet again are falling down and we will reap what we sow. It's so disappointing and so very sad. - Beverly O

When I was graduated from a Catnolic University in 1961, one major subject of discussion was the Third Secret of Fatima which was supposed to be released by 1960. We have never been told it, despite what we are told, but we don't have to be told. All we have to do is look out the window, at television, at film, at 50 million U.S. abortions. It is collapsed. That University signed onto Land O' Lakes in 1967. - Bill Phelan

There are two sub-classes of pro-life Catholic voters that won't vote for McCain. On the Left is the peacenik/Catholic-Worker crowd, which opposes any and all forms of violence for any reason. On the Right are those for whom ESCR, which McCain supports, is just as important a non-negotiable.as abortion.

I'm not justifying such stances. Just explaining their effect. - Michael Liccione
