I hail from Pennsylvania ... Key counties to watch are the semi-urban counties far away from the two big urban centers: Lehigh, Northampton, Erie, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Dauphin. Northampton-Lehigh just sent a R to Congress. Erie and Dauphin went R in 2008. If Romney wins about 50 percent of the vote in Lackawanna and Luzerne, he will win the state. It is entirely possible. Those are Catholic counties with no love at all for the sexual leftists. - Tony Esolen

Unfortunately, the hapless laity and their feckless bishops are playing right into the hands of the merchants of death.

There are many electoral map web sites on line where various scenarios can be assessed. I think the author makes a plausible argument and Pennsylvania could be seriously "in play" this year. I would also posit to the author that Virginia is critical to both candidates and specifically, Northern Virginia and the Diocese of Arlington. Bishop Loverde to his credit has been and continues to be a very vocal critic of the healthcare mandates imposed on the Church and I'm impressed with the degree of outreach Bishop Loverde and the Priests in the Arlington Diocese have conducted and continue to conduct in this matter. Pennsylvania cold be a pleasant surprise this year for Mitt Romney but the Catholic vote in the Arlington Diocese just may hold the key in this upcoming election. - Frank
