I almost think it's better to win this piecemeal. Metaphorically speaking, If we thoroughly defeat them in a step-by-step slugfest, the victory will be complete and devastating. If we go for the glory and happen to win swiftly, they will never stop trying to rise up and overturn the results. Think WWII as opposed to Desert Storm

This way is more painful and frustrating, but squashing each goofy, evil precept held by the pro-infanticide crowd, in a publically loud, grotesque manner is important. That's called defeat, "with prejudice", and it’s the only way to actually destroy evil. It can’t be defeated if they get smacked around, go off to lick their wounds and regroup for round two. Their ideas have to be brought out into the sun and deconstructed to the point there will be so much public revulsion that there will be no safe place to air them again. A beautiful result may be that by doing this, many of the folks on their side will be forced to truly examine their motivation and will see that they are on the wrong side. Normal people don’t want to be evil. In the mean time, we should pray for them.

As one who has fought legislative battles on behalf of the unborn for decades, I am encouraged by these incremental victories. We will continue to rescue as many babies as possible from this 40-year holocaust. Please pray now for the right opportunity to directly challenge Roe v. Wade and consign it to the ash heap of history. - Catholic State Legislator

But if the standard is pain, then why can't they just require anesthesia. The evil isn't created by the felt or unfelt pain. I suppose any restriction is better than nothing, but this is yet another flight from the real issue - TradCathPhilProf

Isn't true that those who are pro-abortion tend be animal rights extremists? Maybe the best way to defend unborn human babies is to start a movement to abort animal babies. How would the pro-abortion people feel if we aborted unborn baby seals?

Isn't also true that those who are pro-abortion tend to be environmental extremists, even though the greatest example of symbiosis is that of a mother and her unborn child?

And, finally, isn't it true that those who are pro-abortion tend to embrace evolution and natural selection, but then also favor contraception, in vitro fertilization, and other artificial intrusions in sex and reproduction? - Jon S.
