You know your day is in trouble when it is made by the high-end slamming of a footnote in the New American Bible. - Charles E Flynn

"What is important is not the clothing, but the one who clothes: God is faithful even when they are not."

He clothes us in His Own Righteousness, a raiment far surpassing the "lilies of the field", and covers our sins and weakness with His Precious Life-giving Blood! i cannot even begin to imagine......

to think that He has placed Eden in my soul so that, dust though i am, we will one day be together again, just as He desires.

i have loved this whole series, Prof. Esolen, as well as your contributions to The Magnificat.

and since that daily prayer book is $45/year, i owe you all at least that for giving me reading and reflecting partners in this journey toward Home. Count Me IN! my check is in the mail, RR. thanks be to God for you and Brad and everyone at TCT. (and, may i beg a prayer for my continued unemployment situation?) - debby

I would echo other Joe and add emphasis! Professor Esolen, another excellent essay worthy of much meditation. Plain and truthful speech is rare in the world today, and practically non-existent in the world of academia. Like one crying out in the wilderness you evangelize to fulfill the mission of drawing our hearts towards our fathers. I for one am very grateful for your voice. Christ’s peace to you and all men of good will! - Achilles

This is great. It is what has been sadly downplayed in the dry platitudes and disheartening calls for perfect purity in religiosity that are weekly mumbled forth from pulpits across the land. Born in a manger in the House of Bread! The scriptures are so rich in profound symbolism (which is so deeply interconnected) that only inspiration can account for it. It is true poetry and the poetry of Truth. - Othe Joe
