Archbishop Georg Gänswein, Pope Benedict’s long-time personal secretary and current head of the papal household, blasted his fellow German bishops for their doctrinal errors and seemed to suggest the vagueness of Pope Francis’ Amoris Laetitia shows why “magisterial tenets cannot be changed by half sentences or somewhat ambiguous footnotes.”
