German cardinal: let laypeople run parishes

Reinhard Marx, archbishop of Munich, has announced his intention to allow parishioners to operate churches in many areas. This is necessary, because in the last year just one young man came forward to study for the priesthood in Marx’s archdiocese of 1.75-million Catholics.
