Francis’ strange stance on Venezuela

Pope Francis is far from reticent about denouncing situations of injustice in various parts of the world. But he has taken a strangely neutral position between protesters and his own bishop in Venezuela and the government that has repressed them, attacked churches, and brought hunger and chaos into a once well-off country.
