A funeral Mass should be our chance at reconciliation with each other, or, at the very least, a time when we try and repress our lower instincts. The controversies surrounding the Helmut Kohl’s funeral – a serious Catholic and Christian Democrat – sadly, are a good indication of what to avoid at all costs.
