Cardinal Jorge Urosa Savino, of Caracas, Venezuela, was in Rome last Friday to update Pope Francis on the deteriorating situation in his country. Speaking with Crux, he said that despite several signs proving things are getting worse, he sees hope in the upcoming regional elections, which he believes will make reality “even more evident”: The government of President Nicolas Maduro doesn’t have the people’s support.
