Women are more active in the “male-dominated” Church than are men. Could it be that women are more hard-wired to appreciate religion? When men “pray for others,” they have a tendency to make it a task of scrolling through names, whereas women more readily affix faces to the names, making them present by way of memory and imagination, and responding with empathy and affection.
