The comment attributed to Pope Francis by a homosexual man that “God made you like this” is just the most recent example of the way the pope is pioneering a new form of papal teaching, massively influential but officially non-existent. He will address an individual case with words not in line with Catholic teaching, “yet his words are reported as proposing a general norm. Absent any clarification of the norm, it is reasonably assumed by many that the norm has been changed.”
