Thinking about the recent Meta Gala and the “Heavenly Bodies” exhibit, a Dominican priest reflects on the symbols of Catholicism — something viewers of the Met’s extravaganza likely didn’t know — and warns of “beige Catholicism,” a dumbing down of our Faith and its traditions so as to make it as “non-threatening, accessible, culturally appealing as possible.”
