A new collection of columns from TCT contributor James V. Schall, S.J. clearly shows that Islamist violence has its roots in voluntarist theology. And many Western Christians and secularists have to face up to their own implicitly voluntarist conceptions of God and/or man which have blinded them to the Islamist threat.
