A new collection of columns from TCT contributor James V. Schall, S.J. clearly shows [1] that Islamist violence has its roots in voluntarist theology. And many Western Christians and secularists have to face up to their own implicitly voluntarist conceptions of God and/or man which have blinded them to the Islamist threat.
