Moving to remedy the damage of a disastrous tenure in Memphis that left the Catholic community wounded and reeling, Pope Francis yesterday appointed David Talley, formerly of Alexandria, Louisiana. The pope also elevated two others (in California) but did not name anyone to replace Cardinal Wuerl in Washington, DC.
