For one of his last book reviews, Father Schall’s read Rachel Fulton Brown’s Mary & the Art of Prayer in which the devotional and manuscript record of the middle ages is examined. We see the age’s ubiquitous Marian concern that touched music, architecture, poetry, manners, war, love, family life, piety, and philosophy. Schall calls it a “masterful book.” [1]
