Running into Notre Dame’s flame

From the war zones of Afghanistan to the 2015 terror attacks in Paris, Father Jean-Marc Fournier has been at the forefront of several of his nation’s greatest recent tragedies. His face became indelibly associated with the terrible fire at the great cathedral on the first day of Holy Week, as he raced in to save the Blessed Sacrament, the Crown of Thorns and the Tunic of St. Louis, and to guide firefighters through chapels and corridors, as flames consumed significant parts of Notre-Dame de Paris. ^[1]
