McCarrick letters: restrictions were in place and Wuerl knew

Correspondence obtained from an ex-aide to Theodore McCarrick, the disgraced former cardinal, confirms that restrictions on McCarrick were imposed by the Vatican in 2008. McCarrick also claims in he letters that Cardinal Donald Wuerl, then the Archbishop of Washington, was aware of them and involved in conversations about their implementation. McCarrick also wrote to Pope Francis asking that George Weigel be rejected as Vatican ambassador if the Trump administration proposed him.
