The White Rose was a nonviolent, intellectual resistance group comprised mainly students at the University of Munich, who, from June 27, 1942, onwards organized an anonymous leaflet and graffiti campaign in Germany calling for active opposition to the Nazi regime. Their hero and inspiration was soon-to-be Saint John Henry Newman. [1]
