Some theologians reject the idea of intrinsic evil. But the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, reminds us of evil’s objective existence. Some think humanity has learned its lesson — that an Auschwitz could never happen again, but as one Holocaust survivor, Primo Levy, put it, it did happen, so it can happen again.
