“Dear brothers and sisters in the United States,” the pope said in a video broadcast yesterday, “I have witnessed with great concern the disturbing social unrest in your nation in these past days, following the tragic death of Mr. George Floyd.” Francis added that he is praying for Floyd’s eternal rest and for “all the others who have lost their lives because of the sin of racism.”
