Both NYC Mayor de Blasio and NYS Governor Cuomo actively encouraged mass BLM protests while cracking down on religious services, whether Christian or Jewish. A judge has shot down those restrictions, but most courts are inclined to defer to state-and-local decisions about handling a deadly disease. However, this is one area where the Constitution requires a less deferential approach. [1]
