The Office for Civil Rights at HHS recently intervened in a case in which a man injured in an accident was denied access to a priest because of concerns about COVID-19, which has led to the development of a new policy that insures patients have access to clergy. Says HHS Secretary Alex Azar, “we can deliver healthcare, combat COVID-19, and protect religious freedom all at the same time.”
