The trouble with nuking Japan

Although estimates about the number of deaths that would result from an invasion of Japan in 1945 were catastrophically high for both sides, many military leaders, including Dwight D. Eisenhower, still opposed the use of atomic weapons. And it maybe that so grave an act was actually what encouraged acceptance of abortion.
